Farmers’ Market -Amman
Published July 17, 2009 Jordan , Middle East , Photography , Street Photography Leave a CommentAs you all know by now, I’m really into photographing farmers’ markets. There’s something about the bustling atmosphere that I really love. Vendors are yelling, customers are happy to be buying their fruit and veggies, and people are haggling left and right. Plus, the lighting is usually nice under colored tents.
So I went to the market in Wadi Seir today with my dad. He needed fruit, I needed action.

Jordan’s Most Famous Souvenir
Published July 12, 2009 Photography , Street Photography Leave a CommentThese sand vases are Jordan’s most popular gift for tourists. It’s always so much fun watching these things get made. It truly is an art. Very carefully, these sand artists are able to create drawings, usually of camels and the desert to represent Jordan. It usually takes about 15-20 minutes to make a medium sized vase. Each one is about 3-4JD, which is roughly $6. They can write your name, or whatever message you want. I remember getting one for my Chinese friend that said “Made in China”.
So any special requests?

This wouldn't get done unless he had gahweh oo dukhan (coffee and cigarettes).
